MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff across the state Wednesday to honor a fallen soldier.

First Lt. Daren Hidalgo, of Waukesha, died Feb. 20 after insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. He was 24.

Walker's executive order covers all Wisconsin state and federal government facilities. Businesses and private residences may also lower their flags during daylight hours Wednesday.
