Capitol Chaos: MTEA Asks Teachers To Protest
MILWAUKEE - The president of the Milwaukee teachers union wants all of its members to go to Madison and join the protests.
"Our teachers had difficult decisions to make," said MTEA President Mike Langyel to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News."
Now that the teachers have made the decision to hold a sick out, Langyel says they should head to Madison to rally for their rights.
"We want to help our students in the classroom, but we also want to help our students by having a fair funding system and having a budget that will work and have collective bargaining so we can be represented at the bargaining table," said Langyel.
Langyel says the consequences of losing this fight will be worse than those teachers will face by not showing up at school.
