If you're a superstitious Wisconsin fan, this is not going to calm your nerves about Saturday's game against TCU.

In 55 years of the Beef Bowl, an eating competition between Rose Bowl teams at Lawry's the Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, California, the winner of the Beef Bowl 38 times has gone on to win the Grandaddy of Them All.

If you're a Wisconsin fan, you'll have to hope it's not a clean sweep this year...because for the first time here, the Badgers lost the Beef Bowl!  TCU put away 670 pounds of meat...Wisconsin, 650.  A win by just one rib, according to Lawry's manager Todd Johnson.

The other funny moment of the night, QB Scott Tolzien dressed in chef's gear and making the ceremonial first cut.  Only problem, according to my watch, it took him 3 minutes to get it done.  Tolzien joked with me afterwards that it was like being in the 4th quarter, and he came up short...so he doesn't plan on coming up small on Saturday!
