Bike Shop Owner Severely Injured in Crash
NASHOTAH - Two bicyclists were hit by a car on Wisconsin Avenue in Waukesha County during the morning commute. Both victims, Jeff Littmann and Laruen Jensen, are prominent athletes and well known in the community.
They both were riding eastbound when a car struck them.
Littmann's injuries were so serious flight for life had to be called in. Jensen was taken by ground.
She is a prominent triathlete. Littmann is very involved in bicycle racing and owns a cycling store called "Attitude Sports" in Pewaukee.
He coaches many people and leads many bike rides. His friends say he always stresses safety.
"He rides every day. He's a personal trainer, he's fit. So he's defiantly a good fighter," said Attitude Sports co-owner and friend David Haase.
It's unclear why the car hit the riders. That is still under investigation. All that's known about Littmann is that he has serious head injuries.
He was in a serious accident a few years back but fought to recover.
Friends say he was living his dream enjoying his bike store and excited about the addition of the new sports center. The grand opening for that is tonight while Littmann again fights for his life.
"He's a buff strong guy and we're counting on that to get him through this. They just don't make them like Jeff. There's not a better guy out there. He's the closest thing to an angel on earth."
