SOMERSET TOWNSHIP - The Department of Natural Resources is offering a reward of $500 for information leading to the arrest of  the people who poached a black bear in February.

The DNR reports the bear was found in a ditch on February 24. It was missing its head, and wardens believe it was shot while hibernating and dragged out of the culvert where it had been sleeping.

The bear weighed between 250 and 300 pounds, and the DNR believes it probably took more than one person to move the bear.
