MPD officer, wrong-way driver in critical condition following overnight crash; suspect allegedly drunk
Authorities say two people, including a Milwaukee Police officer, are in critical condition after an alleged wrong-way drunk driving crash the led to a freeway closure overnight.

Milwaukee's Police Department identifies the officer as 31-year-old Joshua Albert. According to police, Albert became a police officer in March 2009 and received a Meritorious Service Award from Chief Edward A. Flynn in 2011 for an outstanding arrest.
The alleged drunk driver has been identified as 23-year-old Erin Salmon. This is her first alleged drunk driving offense.
