Emergency call for blood donors
MILWAUKEE - There is an emergency need for blood donors this summer.
Both the Red Cross and the Blood Center of Wisconsin have set up dozens of blood donation opportunities in Southeastern Wisconsin over the next three weeks.
"Unseasonably early warm weather may be a contributing factor to the 50,000 donation shortfall in June as many regular donors got an early start on summer activities, and aren't taking time to give blood or platelets," said Progam Manager of Communications Bobbi Snethen. "But the need remains constant. In fact, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood."
