Mommy Makeover

Mommy Makeover

Shelley Walcott

Many women love being parents, but aren't so thrilled with their post-partum bodies. The solution: a Mommy Makeover.

That's what Janet Sarnowski was looking for. The Oshkosh mom loves her two sons, but wanted to trade out that post-baby body.

"I don't care what kind of genes you have," she told us candidly. "Once you have kids, everything changes."

Janet gained 48 pound with each of her pregnancies, and breast-fed both boys. That, she says, changed her body even more. "When you have the baby, it's like you think you're going to put on the clothes and your tummy's going to go down. But it doesn't. You have the loose skin. Your breasts go from whatever they were to... Mine were smaller afterwards," she admitted.

The 35-year-old wanted to change her appearance. That's when she heard about "mommy makeovers".... Plastic surgery especially for mothers seeking postpartum perfection.

Fox Valley Plastic Surgery in Oshkosh offers the makeover. It's actually a series of surgeries offered to young mothers. You can get breast augmentation, a tummy tuck, and liposuction. A combination of the three promises to restore your body to its pre-pregnancy look.

Janet's went for breast augmentation. Dr. David Janssen was her surgeon.

"She's a lovely lady. And she just felt that she wasn't lovely. She had something that we could fix in two hours that makes her feel as good as she looks," Janssen told us. "There's a lot of midlife depression that comes about when a woman looks at the devastation their bodies had by having children. I can reverse that."

Janet opted for just silicone breast implants. She started out as a 36A, and now she's a 36 DD.

The procedure was painful... But now this stay-at-home mom says... She feels picture perfect. "I'm so happy that I had it done and I feel like they fit me completely," she told us.

A word of warning... Mommy Makeovers aren't cheap, and aren't typically covered by insurance.

Tummy tucks cost between $4,000-8,000. And the starting cost of breast augmentations is $2,300.
