Drivers treating South 35th Street as a freeway
MILWAUKEE- It's another trip to the south side for Speedbusters this week.
The calls keep coming because the cars just don't want to slow down.
Rachel Kenison always loves a walk with her friends Frankie and Jax, except for one thing: dodging traffic.
The area under investigation is 35th Street, between Forest Home and Oklahoma Avenues on Milwaukee's south side. The speed limit is 30 miles per hour, but the Speedbusters gun caught drivers going nearly 50 miles per hour.
"Generally speaking people just see it as a way to get somewhere else, so they get through it quickly," says Rachel Kenison.
There's nothing wrong with using South 35th Street as a cut-through, but some people are treating it as a freeway.
