Speedbusters: West Grange Avenue
Jay Olstad

MILWAUKEE - TODAY’S TMJ4’s Speedbusters are getting multiple e-mails complaining about the same Milwaukee street.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Jay Olstad found one mother taking matters into her own hands.
Milwaukee mother Shannon Williams isn’t a racing fan.
“You can just see it. Sometimes they’re racing, they’re racing on purpose,” Williams said.
She gets enough of it outside her home on the 1400 block of West Grange Avenue.
"I just get really nervous,” Williams said.
The mother of three emailed Speedbusters asking for help.
"You try to teach them not to run out here, but if they ever did, I’m telling you, they wouldn't have a chance,” Williams said.
So we thought who better to clock speeders on the 30 mile an hour zone than someone who lives with it everyday. So, Jay taught Shannon Williams how to use the Speedbusters gun.
“A monkey can do it. I just compared myself to a monkey,” Jay Olstad said, as Williams laughed.
But Williams wasn't monkey-ing around when she got the gun.
"45, 45, 46. Yep,” Williams said.
"46, 46, 50,” Williams said.
Jay Olstad found the same.
"45, 46,” Olstad said.
Williams is not alone. Speedbusters received multiple emails from people who live on Grange saying it's just way too fast. They're asking police to come out and patrol.
“There needs to be more law enforcement out here, because in the 7 years I’ve lived here I’ve never seen a cop clocking once,” Williams said.
TODAY’S TMJ4’s Jay Olstad left police a message about that. So, far he has gotten no response.
However, in the past, officials told us much of it is based on neighbor complaints. The more you complain, the more chances you'll see an officer in your area.
So while drivers speed up, Williams worries what may happen if it continues.
"It would not be pretty,” Williams said.
