Memorial Day is coming up this weekend, and with gas prices continuing to rise, you might be thinking about staying closer to home.

Mary Andrae from the Wisconsin Dairy Council and Mark Lutz from the West Allis Cheese and Sausage Shop appeared on Live at 12:30 with an idea: travel to Wisconsin cheese shops and plants for Memorial Day weekend.

Six hundred types, styles and varieties of cheese are made in Wisconsin and Wisconsin is the number one state in cheese production and quality.

For May, the Wisconsin Dairy Council is featuring the all new Traveler's Guide to America's Dairyland. The map features 116 cheese stops. West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shop is one of the 116 cheese shops on the map.
