MILWAUKEE- It was a way of saying thanks to those who help others.  Hundreds showed up at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee today to honor six businesses, and individuals who inspire by making a difference.

Bonnie Andrews of the Volunteer Center of Greater Milwaukee explains, "There are so many things that volunteers accomplish that would not be done with out of use without the use of volunteer resources."

Those receiving awards included, Dale Rhyan of the Guest House of Milwaukee, United Community Center Youth Volunteer Corps, Sexual Assault Treatment Center Volunteer Advocates, Quarles & Brady LLP, Thomas Brophy of  Community Advocates, and Becci Terrill, of Shepherds Ministries.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Milwaukee ranks 8th in the country when it comes to volunteering.
