MILWAUKEE - Every year a Milwaukee holiday tradition dazzles visitors, but as we find out in Positively Milwaukee, Candy Cane Lane in West Allis, is also a treat for those who live there.

“The happiest time of the year…haha,” Bailey Fons who lives on Candy Cane Lane said.

To many people, it's just not the holidays without a trip to Candy Cane Lane in West Allis.

“It’s really cool and there’s lights everywhere so we’re going up and down taking tons of pictures,” Jessica Williams said.

For 22 years, this West Allis neighborhood has raised money for kids with cancer.

“Well the whole purpose is to raise money for the MACC Fund and spread a little Christmas cheer.”

The homes are aglow between Oklahoma and Montana and 92nd and 96th streets.

“It gets cold some nights and the weather’s not all that favorable, but you know what, it’s all part of living in Wisconsin and we enjoy doing it and have a good time doing it as well,” Joy Geyer, who lives on Candy Cane Lane said.

What's it like to live on this holiday lane lit up for hope?

“It’s awesome. It’s great.”

Jennifer Fox and Barbara Graham say living on Candy Cane Lane is sweet.

“I’ve lived here my whole life and I just think it’s great.”

Kids say living on this festive block adds to the excitement of the season.

“It’s pretty cool to have all these lights in one spot,” Spencer Fons, who lives on Candy Cane Lane said.

“It’s awesome cause you see all these lights and you can’t see the house,” Bailey Fons said.

Since it began, Candy Cane Lane has raised about a million dollars to fight childhood cancer, helping a good cause and spreading holiday joy.

“It just makes me more happy. It’s like oh, it’s Christmas time.”

Hundreds of volunteers, and of course, the dedicated residents make Candy Cane Lane a success every year.
