State Fair Food: Is It Healthy?

Many people go to the Wisconsin State Fair to see the animals, hear the music, but mostly to sample the great Wisconsin foods. Here's some ways you can eat healthfully at the State Fair.
Because there are so many foods to choose from at the Fair, it is easy to overindulge, but having so many choices makes healthy eating even more possible because you can balance your choices between high calorie and lower calorie foods and practice the art of tasting rather than pigging out. Today is the perfect day to do just that because it is Crazy Grazin’ Day at the Fair. Some vendors are offering smaller portions so you can taste a variety of foods without the guilt.
The Grand Champion burger has the most calories when compared to the pork loin sandwich, cuban sandwich and gyro. When it comes to desserts, the cream puffs have the least calories when compared to the blue ribbon brownie, funnel cake and apple pie.
A baked potato with butter and sour cream is healthier than a blooming onion. And when you're reaching for a beverage, avoid the soda pop. Opt for water or milk if you have a choice between that and soda or lemonade.
