Feds Looking Into Handyman

A major development in a big investigation the TODAY’S TMJ4 I-Team broke Thursday night: the feds are now looking into a local handyman who drained an elderly woman’s bank account.

Senior Investigative Reporter John Mercure broke the story.

The I-Team has learned that the IRS is now looking into handyman Scott Trajkovski. What they uncover could land Trajkovski in a whole lot of trouble.

Trajkovski did some work for Alta from Glendale two years ago. He then apparently hammered the elderly widow’s bank account. Alta’s son claims Trajkovski drained it completely.

“Somebody elderly, who’s lost their life partner, their lifelong partner. They’re lonely and he came in and took advantage of that,” Alta’s son, Bob said.

“Some days it just seems a bit unreal that this actually occurred, that he was doing this to my mom,” Bob said.

Trajkovski was defiant when TODAY’S TMJ4’s John Mercure asked him about it.

John Mercure: “Her family’s upset because she gave you like, over $100,000.”

“That’s not true,” Trajkovski said.

It is true. TODAY’S TMJ4 has copies of the canceled checks, and now we’ve learned that the IRS is looking into Trajkovski.

“They are going to open an investigation as to his tax dealings and any business dealings he’s had in the past few years,” Detective Bryan Bichler said.

Bichler believes the IRS investigation could take months to complete.

“Perhaps they can find something here that will shed some more light on other people perhaps. There may be other people out there who have given this person sums of money,” Bichler said.

It may be too late for Alta. Her family hopes by speaking up, others can be protected.

We did not use the family’s last name in our piece to protect their privacy.
