Dirty Dining: Derry's Pub

By Courtny Gerrish

MILWAUKEE - A hot spot near Miller Park. Baseball fans might get more than just alcohol in their drink order. Here's what inspectors found at Derry's Pub on 53rd and Blue Mound.

There were fruit flies in the bar area, and dead fruit flies in some of the liquor bottles.

We stopped by to inquire about the violations, but no one at Derry's could comment on what inspectors found.

Things like no expiration dates on some ready to eat, potentially hazardous food. Shelf life is seven days.

The food slicer is not being cleaned. There was dried food debris on the blade and a thick crust of food grime on the wooden paper towel holder.

There was no sanitizer set up. Utensils and food contact surfaces need to be sanitized.

Employees were slicing food in a back storage room with no hand sink. Inspectors ordered that discontinued unless employees have a place to wash their hands.

We left a message for the manager when we stopped by but did not hear back from Derry's Pub on those violations.
