Dirty DiningBlue Ribbon AwardsBy Courtny GerrishMILWAUKEE - It's all things Greek for this week's Blue Ribbon Awards. Gyros anyone? It's been all in the family at this south side spot for the last 20 years. Owner Tim Nassiopoulos assures us everything on the menu is good. From custard to, of course, gyros "The Gyros Stand" on Oklahoma near Humboldt Park is keeping things clean in the kitchen. So they get this week's first Blue Ribbon Award. Ouzo Cafe downtown on Milwaukee Street near Wells. They serve food 'til 3:30 a.m.! The portions are big and there's always attention to detail. Owner Nickey Pappas told us "I'm a fanatic with cleanliness and my sous chef Miguel and our team here are amazing people." Ouzo Cafe had a clean health inspection report and gets our second Blue Ribbon award.
