Blue Ribbon Awards

By Courtny Gerrish

A great pizza or a delicious steak? You decide. Or enjoy them both. We dropped by two restaurants with clean kitchens. Zaffiro's on Farwell. This popular family owned pizza spot on the east side has been serving Milwaukeeans for some 50 years. The famous tomato sauce has to be perfect, and so does Zaffiro's health inspection. It was so Zaffiro's gets our first Blue Ribbon Award. "That's wonderful, thank you very much. It's just diligent work you have to stay on top of it," commented restaurant manager Frank Lococo. Mr. B's Steakhouse on Capitol Drive in Brookfield. The tables are already set for the dinner crowd. You'll find juicy chops on this menu, and a kitchen that's shiny clean. Executive Chef, Brent Perszyk tells us, "We take it very seriously, not just here at Mr. B's, but in all the Bartolotta restaurants. It's a high priority. We owe it to our guests is the way we look at it." Mr. B's Steakhouse had a clean health inspection and gets this week's second blue ribbon award.
