Dirty DiningDirty Dining: Indian RasoiBy Courtny Gerrish
MILWAUKEE - An Indian restaurant on a popular side of town is not keeping things clean. Even our cameras picked up some violations.
Indian Rasoi on the corner of Van Buren and Brady. Inspectors found cross contamination issues, like raw chicken stored above cooked food in a cooler.
I asked the owner if he cleaned everything up. Owner Ramesh Patrola told me, "Yah, every thing's good." But it's not all good. Inspectors reported an employee beverage sitting on a shelf above the prep table. It could spill and contaminate the food below. We saw one too. The owner moved it as he led us through the kitchen.
We also saw big tubs of raw chicken, sitting out.
Indian Rasoi was not keeping some food warm enough and not cooling food the right way. Also, the sanitizer solution was at toxic levels. Inspectors noted it's not safe for food contact surfaces.
There was no hand soap behind the bar for bartenders. That has been corrected. Inspectors also found mold in the soda gun holsters. The owner insists his restaurant will pass re inspection.
