MILWAUKEE - A family diner known for its soup and great breakfasts has some problems keeping things clean. Health inspectors found some problems at Star of Burleigh on 84th and Burleigh. When TODAY’S TMJ4’s Courtny Gerrish stopped by with the restaurant’s inspection report, the owner let her see the kitchen. Inspectors found dirty and clean dishes being stored together. Owner Gus Tsioutsias showed Gerrish the set up. He says the dirty dishes are always kept separate from the clean ones. Inspectors also found the grill was greasy and needed cleaning. "We keep nice and clean, we do ourselves, every week,” Tsioutsias said. Inspectors also found no sanitizing solution set up, and wiping cloths are supposed to be stored in that. The owner showed Gerrish he does now have the solution. Inspectors also found a meat slicer with old debris on it. The owner says it was just one little area. "We clean the machine all the time because if you don't it's going to be big problem,” Tsioutsias said. Inspectors also found chemicals stored next to ready to eat foods under the soda machine. The owner says his restaurant is cleaned up and ready for re-inspection.
