Dirty Dining: Blue Ribbon Awards

By Courtny Gerrish

MILWAUKEE – A local café and a popular burger joint are getting awards for keeping things clean in the kitchen. Patty Burger on Farwell is a hamburger haven. The food is made to order and burgers are served on fresh baked buns. It’s not your average greasy burger joint. “We keep a clean bathroom, a clean kitchen and a clean dining room,” Manager Bryan Majewski said. For that, Patty Burger gets the first Blue Ribbon Award. TODAY’S TMJ4’s Courtny Gerrish: “If you have a clean health inspection report…” “We did have a clean health inspection report,” Majewski said. Courtny Gerrish: “You did, so that’s what you get.” “Thank you,” Majewski said. On the city’s northwest side, Jo’s Café on 35th and Silver Spring serves up a gigantic breakfast. It’s named after the owner’s mom. The place has been in the family for some 20 years. Jo’s Café gets the second Blue Ribbon Award. “We work very hard to keep it clean that way, so that’s why we have the business people come back and enjoy eating here,” Owner John Platzer said.
