Dirty DiningDirty Dining: Buffet CityBy Courtny Gerrish
MILWAUKEE - A list of problems at a buffet on the city's far northwest side, including expired milk.
Buffet City on 86th and Brown Deer Road. Inspectors found two gallons of expired chocolate milk. That milk was for customers.
There was also old, dried pieces of food mixed in with clean utensils. No hand soap in the employee restroom and ready to eat noodles stored under the raw meat prep sink. That's a cross contamination risk.
The manager was not there to comment, but we found the back door of the restaurant open when we stopped by. Inspectors ordered it closed to keep out insects and rodents.
The restaurant had a fly strip hanging above flour and other ingredients. Food trays in the kitchen were not properly covered, and dirty utility gloves and dirty aprons were stored inside a box of onions and bananas.
