Dirty Dining: Double Happiness
Courtny Gerrish
MILWAUKEE – Inspectors found roaches, a dirty kitchen and a whole laundry list of violations for one local restaurant, and this isn't the first time.
There were live roaches in the kitchen at Double Happiness on 60th and Bluemound. An inspector saw one crawling across a table where employees prep customer's food. There were also dead roaches.
That's not the only thing making inspectors unhappy at the Chinese restaurant. It also has a mouse problem. Inspectors found droppings and an open bag of rice on the floor, which could attract more.
Inspectors also found a dirty kitchen and ordered Double Happiness to clean the grease build up on shelves, walls, floors and equipment.
Inspectors found clean pans with food debris in them, and slime in the soda gun.
These are some of the same problems from two years ago when TODAY’S TMJ4 first visited this restaurant. So why did the restaurant let things slip?
“I have no idea,” owner Eugene Moy said.
Moy also said he doesn’t have much help. Moy did not want to show us the kitchen, but claims he is working with health inspectors so this doesn't happen again.
