Dirty Dining: Lisbon Cafe
Courtny Gerrish
MILWAUKEE - A neighborhood cafe with dirty surfaces and rodent droppings. Lisbon Cafe at 85th and Lisbon Avenue has been serving the area for 11 years.
Now the owner has some things to clean up, like flies in the kitchen and rodent droppings. Inspectors found that on top of a small freezer.
They also saw toxic chemicals stored with food products, a cross contamination risk.
The owner wasn't there when we stopped by, and an employee asked us to turn off the camera.
There was also a thick layer of grease and food spills on surfaces, like a food prep table and the microwave.
Coolers were at 50 degrees. 41 is the safe temperature. The owner claims those coolers get a lot of use during the lunch hour, which makes the temperature warmer.
The owner claims pest control comes in once a month, and he doesn't think what inspectors saw was rodent droppings.
