MILWAUKEE - A Mexican spot on the city's south side has been fined for its violations. Dirty Dining's visit showed dirty knives and food stored in dirty containers.

At Arandas Taqueria on 13th near Oklahoma, pots and pans are stored on dirty shelves, and food is kept in plastic shopping bags, a cross contamination risk.  Also, food is stored in dirty containers.

Dirty Dining spoke to a manager by phone.  Inspectors found "numerous containers of food uncovered in coolers and on shelves." Scoops without handles were in food containers, but the manager said employee's hands were not touching the food. And nobody's watching temperatures when it comes to cooling prepared food.

Blenders stored on a shelf looked soiled, and the inside of the ice machine was dirty.  The sink employees use to wash their hands was blocked by dirty pots and pans.  The manager told us the restaurant has nothing to hide, and has fixed its violations.

Another restaurant with a number of violations is Mr. Sebass on 34th and National.  There were no expiration dates on food and no glove use.

But keeping things clean in the kitchen is the Dairy Queen on Hampton near Santa Monica and La Fondita at 25th and Greenfield.
