MILWAUKEE - A Mexican Restaurant has been fined by the health department after a number of violations that could make you sick.

Chicken Palace on 35th and National serving up your standard Mexican fare and chicken dinners.  But this spot had some cross contamination risks. A cook put raw burger patties on the grill, then rinsed his gloves with only water and went back to work. Also, raw chicken stored next to uncovered food, like sour cream.

The restaurant was also not marking all of its prepared food with expiration dates.  It has to be thrown out after seven days.   Food temperature was also a problem. Meat set out to thaw was too warm, and other food not kept hot enough like refried beans and chicken. And temperature issues with a pan of cooked rice sitting out left over from the day before. The health inspector made sure it was thrown out.

Another restaurant with temperature problems in this week's reports was Nori Japan in the Brookfield Square food court. It scored just 11 points above failing. Keeping things clean this time around is the Alterra on Humboldt, and a place that's earned a Blue Ribbon Award from us before, Golden Chicken on 68th and Villard.
