Five Guys, La Delicatesse awarded Blue Ribbon for clean dining
MILWAUKEE- A burger and fries or are you feeling more "international?" Two spots get this week's Blue Ribbon Award for clean dining.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Ogden near Jefferson in downtown Milwaukee. Some call it "heaven on a bun." When it comes to keeping things clean there's protocol to follow from corporate and there's this guy. "I'm in here every lunch hour, and I do all the little details walking around with rags." Owner Tim O'Shaughnessy is a stickler for clean, and so are his employees.
"They know that I'm going to catch them on every little detail so then they want to do it, and they take pride in it," O'Shaughnessy told us. Because Five Guys has a clean health inspection, they get the first Blue Ribbon Award.
Over at the Grand Avenue Mall, an immaculate kitchen at La Delicatesse. Owner Ayhan Sinay is going for an international flair from croissants to pizza. "We just want to try to be fast food but restaurant quality," Sinay pointed out.
Cleaning is at the top of his "to do" list. "If you serve you have to be you know like clean, clean, clean. We have a deep clean every night when we close here. I mop the floor and clean everywhere."
La Delicatesse had a clean health inspection and gets our second Blue Ribbon Award.
