MILWAUKEE- A Chinese spot in West Allis with some food temperature problems. Great Apple Chinese Restaurant on 110th and National.

Eggs were sitting out at room temperature. Fried rice was unrefrigerated and had to be thrown out. A cooler was too warm. Pans of cooked chicken and pork were at 66 degrees instead of 41. That food was also thrown out.

Kitchen equipment not being cleaned on a regular basis and areas of the kitchen floor were soiled. There was grease buildup and dust on the ventilation hood and filters above cooking equipment. Great Apple was also reusing plastic grocery bags to store food, a cross contamination risk.

A customer also filed a complaint with the West Allis Health Department saying a Great Apple employee was cutting pea pods on a table in the dining area.

When I asked the owner if everything had been cleaned up he didn't want to comment. Another employee asked us to leave.
