MILWAUKEE- They serve up pizza by the slice at this spot on Milwaukee's near south side. They're also serving up a big slice of dirty dining.

Benny's Pizza on S. 11th St. and W. Lincoln Ave. We gave this place a Blue Ribbon back in 2007. We came back to ask about the three pages of violations. Like an employee touching customer's food, lettuce, tomato and bread, with bare hands.

A pan of cooked ribs sitting out at 63 degrees. The safe cold temperature is 41. Unwrapped, cooked bacon stored in a cardboard box that used to hold raw meat. The bacon was thrown out.

A greasy shoe string holding up a shelf over a table where they prep pizza; it's still there. Also prepared food with no expiration date, like lasagna and coleslaw. The shelf life for ready to eat food is 7 days. There were soiled wiping cloths sitting on counters with no sanitizer set up, and the restaurant is using a badly chipped and splintered wooden pizza paddle.

Benny's Pizza also had mold on the ceiling of a walk in cooler, there were no thermometers to check food temperature and the cook on duty didn't know proper cooking, reheating or hot holding temps. There was no owner or manager there when we stopped by, and we never heard back.
