BAY VIEW- A Chinese place in Bay View with a lot of problems in the kitchen. What a manager had to say about all those violations.

No. 1 Chinese on KK in Bay View.  They're painting and fixing up the restaurant and now cleaning things up. This spot had three pages of violations.  Why were so many things being done wrong?

Manager Xiao Zang tells us "all the time we would clean in the night time not the daytime." According to Zang the inspector came before they had a chance to clean up.

She also tells us the raw shrimp sitting on top of cooked chicken was a "one time thing." Broccoli washed and cut and then put back in the cardboard delivery box. Zang says they now know that's not allowed.

The inspector also found mouse droppings in a storage room. There was also an open bowl of rodent bait and boxes of food sitting on the floor. Zang claims they have monthly pest control and no longer have a mice.

No. 1 Chinese threw out a bucket of gravy; it wasn't cooled properly. And there were no expiration dates on sushi. Zang says the raw fish is served way before the 7 day "use by" date. She says it's all cleaned up but would not show us the kitchen.
