MILWAUKEE- Well known for its fish fry this spot in Riverwest has some things to clean up. "Klinger's East" off Humboldt on Locust. The sign out front says "best butter burger," but health inspectors found some problems this time around. Things like slime build up inside an ice machine. I talked to the owner by phone about the violations. Like dead insects in some of the liquor bottles, which were ordered thrown out. He tells me bottle pours are on order, so it won't happen again. There was debris on parts of the soda dispenser and beer tappers. The owner says they clean every day before opening, but this time the inspector showed up early. Also clean beer pitchers stored on a dirty surface. And this cross contamination risk, raw beef patties stored next to lunch meat. The owner tells me it will all be corrected by next week's deadline.
