Have you ever bought a product and assumed you were protected because the product was guaranteed?

Before you buy under these premises again, make sure that you understand how your satisfaction will be guaranteed.

When shopping for a product:

Ask if the guarantee is for money back, and whether or not this is a full refund include shipping and handling.

Some companies will only refund the price paid, minus shipping and handling, and may even charge you to return the product.

Others may only guarantee to send you a new product or offer other tips on how to use the product.

Also, ask about the terms and conditions of the guarantee, such as how many days you have from purchase to request a refund or replacement, or whether you can receive a refund if the product has been used.

If a company promises you a guarantee and does not stand behind its promise, you may want to file a complaint with consumer protection agencies.
