MILWAUKEE - Are you looking to get a great deal on tickets to the Rose Bowl?

Before you jump at a deal that seems to good to be true, watch out. You could be targeted by a scam.

If you are planning to go to the Rose Bowl, now is a good time to check things out to be sure that you are getting all that you are being promised.

Although there are a number of good ticket and travel packages, you need to be on the lookout for scams that tend to pop up when a big event occurs.

If you are planning to buy tickets or a travel package, here is how you can check things out and steer clear of trouble:

- Always buy from a reputable seller and pay with a credit card.

If you run into trouble, you may be able to dispute the charge with your credit card company.

- Shop around before you buy.

Once you make the reservation or pay any fees, you may not be able to get a refund.

- Do not assume that what you bought is legitimate.

Contact hotels, airlines, and ticket brokers if necessary to be sure that your reservations are confirmed and that the tickets you have purchased are legitimate.

If you spot a deal or fear that what you have purchased is not legitimate, contact the Wisconsin Department of Consumer Protection and other consumer agencies so that they can help you and others from getting taken.
