MILWAUKEE - Are you planning to do some furniture shopping this weekend?

Before rush to buy, you may want to keep a few things in mind.

With the holidays coming soon, this may be time of year when many us want to spruce up our homes with new furniture.

Before you rush into buying a new sofa, table, or cabinet, here are a few things that you may want to keep in mind:

Before you head to the store, measure door openings and the space of where you intend to place the furniture.

Buy from reputable retailers who will stand behind their product if something goes wrong.

Before you buy, check out the reputation of the product and manufacturer with consumer agencies.

Ask questions about the quality, construction, and materials used and do your own research as well.

Ask about manufacturer and store warranty policies for the products you intend to purchase.

Ask questions about delivery times, arrangements and costs, as well as return or order cancellation policies.

Before accepting delivery of an item, make sure to thoroughly check it over to be sure that it is the correct product and that it is free from any problems or defects.

If you are not satisfied, do not accept delivery of the item until you can resolve the issue with your retailer.
