Are you planning to finish your holiday shopping online?  You might want to get going soon.

If people are planning to get some last minute gifts online, what should they do?

In addition to ordering as soon as possible and allowing enough time for the item to be shipped, make sure to:

•    Buy from reputable companies.

•    Read the fine print, and terms and conditions or you may be buying or signing up for something that you do not want.

•    Print or save a copy of receipts and the specific web page for the item that you ordered.

•    Check out the return policies, just in case the item does not arrive in time or as promised.

Is it getting to be too late to receive merchandise in time for Christmas?

Not necessarily.  A lot of companies are still promoting that they will guarantee that the item will arrive in time for Christmas.

However, the longer you wait to order, the more it will cost to receive the item in time.

What do you do if you have already ordered something and you are afraid that it will not arrive in time?

Do not wait too long to take action.

If the item should have already been here, get in touch with the company as soon as possible and ask them for help in tracking the shipment.

If there is going to be a delay, ask for overnight or expedited shipping. 

If the delay has been caused by the company, they may be willing to offer this additional service at no additional charge.

If you absolutely must receive the item in time for Christmas, you might want to reorder it, and ship back a duplicate. 

If the company is at fault, they may be willing to pay for return shipping.
