Janesville sounds off about native son Ryan's mixed night
JANESVILLE - In Janesville, people spent Wednesday talking about their favorite son, GOP VP nominee Paul Ryan, both winning and losing on Tuesday.
"I'm disappointed," said one longtime resident talking politics, specifically Ryan.
"Paul's a good guy," explained Mitch Bliss, who lives in Janesville.
"He's a good family guy and he's a credit to Janesville."
Though most TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady talked to like Ryan, many did not vote for him.
"I'm glad he didn't win, because he's far too conservative for the district and the country," explained Bliss.
"If Ryan would have run with somebody else, I probably would have voted for him," said David Dobson, who also lives in Janesville.
Ryan retained his seat in Congress, and for the future, it remains bright, even among critics.
"I wouldn't mind (Ryan running for President)," said Bliss.
"We might have won this time if he'd run," said another voter.
