MADISON - Republican members of the Wisconsin State Senate say they will meet Thursday to pick new leaders in their governing body.

The GOP picked up two seats in Tuesday's elections, allowing Republicans to take control of the Senate.

At this point, it looks like a 17-15 majority, with a possible 18-15 majority when an overwhelming GOP district holds a special election to fill a vacant seat next month.

That will give Republicans control of both legislative houses and the Governor's mansion.
