MILWAUKEE - Janesville's own GOP vice presidential candidate has been scheduled to hold a fundraiser in Milwaukee on Saturday night.

Paul Ryan was to appear at the Pfister Hotel Saturday night in Downtown Milwaukee in his effort to support Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"We're going to give the people of this country the right and opportunity to choose a different path," Ryan told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Midday with Charlie Sykes."

"We're offering very-specific pro-growth plans that give a dynamic pro-growth economy that fosters opportunity versus four more years of the same which means a stagnant economy that fosters government dependency."

Ryan gave details on the tax reform plan he and Romney have been pushing.

"We're going to lower tax rates for everybody across the board by 20 percent, and we're going to pay for that without losing revenue by closing loopholes for people on the top end of the income scale," explained Ryan.

The invitation to Saturday's event says the admission price for the general public is $1,000 per person, while those aged 35 and under can get in for $250.

It costs $15,000 per couple for a private dinner and those wishing to be recognized as a "Founding Partner" need to give $100,000.

No public events around the time of the fundraiser have been announced.

President Barack Obama plans to campaign on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus Thursday.
