Wisconsin Democrats attack Paul Ryan at DNC
CHARLOTTE, N.C- Even though President Clinton and President Obama were on stage at the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night, there's one other name on the minds of many Democrats: Paul Ryan.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Charles Benson said he heard several key speakers bring up the Republican vice presidential candidate. One week go he was the rock of the Republican National Convention, on Wednesday night he's being ripped for his ideas and ideology.
"I don't know how Paul (Ryan) was able assume this mantle of fiscal responsibility," argued La Crosse Democratic Representative Ron Kind.
Even the Wisconsin delegation can't get enough of Paul Ryan's wonkish ways. "I can tell you the numbers don't add up, that dog don't hunt," said Milwaukee Democratic Representative Gwen Moore.
VP candidate Paul Ryan and President Obama have something in common -- both are very much liked in Ryan's congressional district. Obama carried the district and went on to win the state by double digits in 2008.
"The other part of why I think his name comes up is it's road map plan Republicans adopted and has become a bigger target," argued Wisconsin's Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca.
