Cooler air behind a cold front Wednesday night will bring clouds and showers into southeast Wisconsin on Thursday. The clouds will move in Wednesday night with a chance for an isolated showers by morning. Overnight low temperatures will be in the upper-fifties. The clouds stick around on Thursday with occasional rain showers, although we don't expect big rainfall totals, maybe a quarter of an inch or so in most locations. Friday will be sunny and cool while the weekend looks sunny and pleasant.

  • Summer & Sun to Fall & Rain

Our Southwest winds on the back side of departing high pressure will send temperatures soaring about 15 degrees above the average daily 73 degree maximum. Mercury will top out near 90 degrees across much of the area, but the return to Summer will be short-lived. An approaching cold front will begin spreading thin clouds into Northern communities as early as this afternoon. The front sweeps through tonight, shifting winds to the North and dropping temperatures about 25 degrees for tomorrow. Rain lags behind the boundary a bit but should arrive from the North to the South as we head into Thursday. The wet weather exits by the end of the work week with another area of high pressure setting us up for more sunshine this weekend. Have a great Wednesday!

High pressure moves east slowly tonight with clear skies and low temperatures in the mid to lower-sixties. As that ridge eases off to our East we'll see winds pick up out of the Southwest again on Wednesday. The breezy conditions from the "warm direction" will help to boost our temperatures well above average into the mid or upper-80's. A cool front will eventually dramatically reverse the rising mercury by late Wednesday night giving us our next chance of scattered rain showers on Thursday through Friday.

The enormous dome of calm weather which gave us a sunny start to the week continues to dominate our area. As that ridge eases off to our East we'll see winds pick up out of the Southwest. The breezier conditions from the "warm direction" will help to boost our temperatures well above average into the mid 80s. That trend continues through tomorrow when high temperatures could approach the 90 degree mark in a some locations. A cool front will eventually dramatically reverse the rising mercury by the end of the week also giving us our next chance of persistent rain by Thursday through Friday. Have a great Tuesday!

Lows tonight will not be as cold as this morning when most areas dropped into the 40s. You will wake up tomorrow to lows near 50 inland and upper 50s along the lake. That leads to a sunny and warmer day on Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 80s and a gusty SW wind.

  • Ton O' Sun

High pressure from the surface into the upper atmosphere continues building into the region. This kicks off an extended period of very quiet weather. We'll experience plenty of sunshine and dry weather through midweek. Winds will shift to the Southwest sending our temperatures higher today and much higher by Wednesday. Our midweek highs jump back into the mid and upper 80s. Though there could be a few showers toward the end of the week, we're entering a very dry period, again. Have a great week ahead!

  • More autumn weather

Sunday will be another crisp fall-like day with mostly sunny skies and seasonably cool temperatures in southeast Wisconsin. There is a slight chance for a few showers moving off the lake onto shore before noon, but this activity should be light and limited to lakefront communities mainly from Ozaukee county southward. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny as high pressure moves in behind yesterday's weak cold front. That keeps skies clear tonight, allowing temperatures to drop into the low 50s along Lake Michigan and into the mid-40s inland.

  • Scattered Showers then a Nice Sunday

The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for the rest of your Saturday night has a weak, little front rolling on through that will kick off scattered showers and possibly a T'storm. Most of this moves on out of the area late tonight. The dial is slowly being turned to fall as we're expecting a crisp, cool and breezy day in southeast Wisconsin today. It will be hard for many locations to even hit 70 degrees and with a stronger NW wind at 15mph, it will feel like there's a fall chill in the air but at least it will be mostly sunny. A weak cold front swings through late this evening and overnight, bringing a slight chance for a few showers into the forecast, mainly before midnight. Overnight lows will be in the 50s along Lake Michigan and upper 40s in Waukesha and inland.

The dry air rolling in overnight will make for a sunny day on Saturday with high temperatures in the low-seventies. The air will be comfortably dry, just like an ideal autumn day. On Saturday night another weak cold front rolls through that may touch off a brief shower or sprinkle, but I wouldn't count on it. Sunday will be sunny and pleasant also with a high temperature in the low-seventies.A small warm-up starts on Monday and we will see high temperatures near 80 degrees by Tuesday.

  • Occasional Rain, then a Nice Weekend

The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for your Friday will not be a very nice day. Occasional showers will be affecting the area. This will not be a heavy rainfall, but we'll take any rain we can get because we still need it. Highs will only top out in the lower-70's with mostly cloudy skies.

  • Wet Wednesday

Get the umbrella and rain gear ready for a workout today, this morning showers and thunderstorms will move through southeast Wisconsin. We may catch a break from the rain midday before a cold front brings a second chance for rain and thunderstorms again this afternoon. Some storms could be strong, but most of us will see a good quarter to a half an inch of rain. Shower chances diminish by 10pm and then skies will start to clear overnight, temperatures drop into the low 60s at the lakefront and upper 50s inland.

  • Rain will be around on Wednesday before less humid air moves in for the rest of the week...

The best chance for rain comes early tonight with showers and thunderstorms until about 2am. Overnight low temperatures in this humid air will be in the upper-sixties for most locations. High temperatures on Wednesday will still be in the low-sixties for Milwaukee with a good chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. The rain should be gone by early evening on Wednesday night, and then slow clearing as cooler air rolls into southeast Wisconnsin. Skies will be sunny on Thursday as less humid air settles into the state and temperatures drop into the mid-seventies.
