It will be a cooler day in southeast Wisconsin on this last day of September after we saw 70s on Saturday. Highs will be in the low 60s along Lake Michigan and mid-60s can be expected inland due to a NE wind today. A few lake clouds are possible in the morning in the east but everyone will see mostly sunny skies by the end of the day. High pressure keeps our weather quiet tonight and skies will be clear, allowing temperatures to drop close to 40 degrees inland.

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for continued sunshine, low humidity, and comfortable daytime temperatures and cool nights. Highs today will be in the upper 60s, normal for this time of the year and lows will drop back into the 40s overnight. Saturday will quickly warm up into the lower 70s with a light breeze before the lake breeze develops and cools the lakefront into the 60s. A low pressure system to our east will keep the winds out o the NE on Sunday, so highs will only be in the low to mid 60s.

The atmospheric pattern which has given us days of quiet weather remains in place for the foreseeable future. An upper level low anchored to our East will be stubborn, but high pressure at the surface with an abundance of dry air will limit any opportunity for precipitation and provide sunshine for the next several days. Temperatures will climb above average by a few degrees to near 70 today and tomorrow. We'll drop a bit on Sunday, but look for a warming trend again, next week.

High pressure at the surface will continue to be the dominant weather feature for us. After days of sunshine, there's even more on the way. In fact, quiet conditions will persist right through the weekend. Average or "normal" high temperatures this time of year have declined to 67 degrees and we'll notice readings remaining within a few degrees of that for the next several days, too. Overall, an unremarkable period, thought that in and of itself makes it somewhat remarkable.

The cool and crisp atumn air continues tonight under clear skies with temperatures in the upper-thirties inland and low to mid-forties lakeside. The very dry air will bring more sunshine on Thursday and that pattern will continue for the rest of the week. High temperatures on Thursday will be in the mid-sixties and then jump into the upper-sixties on Friday. As the winds turn more southerly on Saturday the weekend will see temperatures rise to around seventy degrees. And there is no rain in sight at the moment.

After a very pleasant Tuesday, with a high that hit 79 degrees, it will feel a lot cooler for this Wednesday due to a cold front that moved through southeast Wisconsin yesterday evening. After a bit of morning fog, expect highs to top out in the low 60s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. High pressure swings in from the west, meaning winds will be from the NNE at 5-15 mph. Thanks to that NE wind, temperatures overnight will be warmer along Lake Michigan with mid 40s expected. Lows inland however, will drop into the upper 30s under mostly clear skies.

As one area of high pressure pulls away from us, we'll continue to see warming temperatures on Southwest winds with plenty of sunshine. There's a cold front which will sweep through later today and tonight, but our air remains very dry in the lower levels of the atmosphere, so expect to remain precipitation-free. In fact, the boundary will have minimal impact on sky conditions, but it will initially level off our temperatures before sending them lower for the remainder of the week. While readings will fall from today's mid 70s, the drop won't be too significant as mercury will likely reach the mid 60's Wednesday through the upcoming weekend.

Strong southwest winds Monday night will keep temperatures from dropping into the thirties, so expect it to be mild with low temperatures in the forties and low-fifties. Those southwest winds will bring the temperatures up into the middle seventies on Tuesday with plenty of sunshine. A cold front will drop those temperatures back into the mid-sixties on Wednesday, but there shouldn't be any precipitation with that frontal passage. Actually, the whole week ahead looks dry.

This first official weekend of fall will definitely feel like it, highs all weekend will struggle to high 60 degrees. We start off Saturday with another round of cold rain, after a few thunderstorms that brought some small hail earlier this morning, but most of this activity should pass out of southeast Wisconsin by noon. Skies will start to clear from west to east this afternoon but even with the sun working through it will feel cold due to a breezy NW wind gusting to 30 mph. Skies continue to clear tonight and temperatures will drop into the 30s because of it. Patchy frost is possible, especially inland areas where overnight lows will be right around freezing, cover up sensitive plants and vegetables.
