Plenty of sunshine today with lighter winds compared to the first half of the week. It will be a seasonably cool day with highs close to 50° in many locations inland. Clear skies and light winds tonight will allow temperatures to drop below freezing in many spots in southeastern Wisconsin so it will be a frosty night, cover sensitive plants.

After a downturn in temperatures on Tuesday, we'll see a slow return to a bit more typical readings today. Abundant sunshine will help boost our temperatures closer to 50 degrees. High pressure will continue to bring the dry stretch of weather right through tomorrow with a return of more blue skies, though a band of lake clouds could move inland for a time today. As our winds switch to the Southwest by the end of the week, temperatures will rise well above average in time for the weekend. That will also lead to more moisture and the likelihood for rain and even some storms. Have a great Wednesday!

Tonight will still be a bit breezy early with clouds decreasing and a bit of patchy frost, especially away from Lake Michigan. Overnight lows range from 28 degrees well inland to 33 degrees at the lakeshore. There should be plenty of sunshine on Wednesday but temperatures will continue to be seasonably cool with high temperatures in the upper-forties and low-fifties across southeast Wisconsin. The big high pressure system causing the cool air is sliding east and that means southerly winds will return to bring a warm-up that starts on Thursday and continues into the weekend. Rain will also return but not until late Friday and the weekend, also.

Tonight will be windy with some frost, especially away from Lake Michigan and a hard freeze likely well west of Waukesha. Freeze warnings have been posted for Dodge, Jefferson and Walworth Counties for tonight. Overnight lows will bottom out in the low-30's for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and upper-twenties to near 30 for our inland areas and Waukesha temperatures. Skies will remain clear to partly cloudy and that will also be the rule for Tuesday. Look for breezy conditions but colder air on Tuesday with a high temperature of forty-eight degrees. Sunshine and seasonal temperatures return for Wednesday and Thursday.

An upper level low over Southeast Canada combined with surface high pressure to our Northwest will lead to very strong winds once again. Breezes could gust to 35 mph to start the work week with temperatures topping out in the mid 50s by midday before sliding by the evening. With that surface high pressure building in, we'll see plenty of sunshine today and blue skies with dry conditions through at least the first half of the week.

The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast the rest of your Saturday night has a few stray sprinkles out there. Of course, a few stray sprinkles wouldn't ruin your night. It's still going to be windy out there at times with partly to mostly cloudy skies. A few spots have recorded wind gusts close to 50 MPH. This is because any precipitation falling out of the clouds is evaporating and cooling, bringing down some of the strong winds from a few thousand feet up. Lows will bottom out around 40.

It will be a beautiful day in southeast Wisconsin with plenty of sun and highs near 60°. There is a slight chance for a sprinkle but most of us stay dry on this Easter Sunday though it will be windy. Winds from the west sustained at 10-20mph, gusting to 30mph, in addition to very dry air will lead to potentially dangerous fire weather conditions. A Red Flag Warning has been issued from 1pm-8pm for all of southeast Wisconsin, you are advised to not burn brush or start bonfires today as they could quickly get out of hand with the dry and windy conditions.

The holiday weekend forecast for southeast Wisconsin looks to be a pretty good one with plenty of sunshine in it. Temperatures will be warmer: 62° in Milwaukee and 64° in Waukesha and inland though it will be in the upper 50s right at the lakefront. Cloud cover increases this afternoon as a cold front will move through between 8pm and midnight, bringing a chance for a few light showers during those hours.

Tonight will be mostly clear and dry. We could see a little more patchy frost just away from Lake Michigan as temperatures drop into the mid-thirties lakeside to lower-thirties well inland. Saturday is day one of the holiday weekend and it will be warmer with a high temperature in Milwaukee of about 62 degrees. There is a small chance for a few showers on saturday night as a weak cold front passes through southeast Wisconsin. Easter Sunday will be sunny and windy with a high temperature of around sixty-one degrees.

An area of high pressure will be in charge of our weather pattern for the next several days, meaning plenty of sunshine but cool temperatures by the lake. Winds will be breezy from the NE today, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s right at the lake, 52° in Milwaukee and 56° in Waukesha and inland. This high pressure will keep us dry overnight but also keep the skies clear overnight. This means we could see some areas of patchy frost, especially inland where lows will drop to 32° by Thursday morning.

Cloud cover decreases tonight with clear to partly cloudy skies as high pressure builds in, bringing winds from the north to northeast off Lake Michigan. The east to northeast winds will continue for much of this week. On Wednesday expect sunny to partly cloudy skies ad very dry air. On Wednesday night you may want to cover sensitive plants once again as clear skies and cool air allows temperatures to fall to near the freezing point away from the lake. A warm front passes to our south, so we will miss out on the heat in southeast Wisconsin today but temperatures will be above average for April. Expect partly cloudy skies and a slight chance for a few afternoon pop-up showers and thunderstorms, not everyone will see rain.
