With a warm front lifting to our North, and high pressure to our Southeast, we'll notice a growing Southerly component to the wind. That will lead to a significant warm up over the next several days. With plenty of lingering moisture early, clouds and fog will remain stubborn, but as we work into the warm sector look for decreasing clouds and more sunshine later in the day and tomorrow. The Southerly flow will also boost moisture and as another disturbance builds our way, get ready for a wet stretch to start Friday night and continue through the weekend. Have a great Thursday!

The stubborn low clouds continue tonight and now a few high clouds roll overhead for later tonight. There will also be a bit of fog developing tonight with low temperatures in the mid to upper-thirties. An upper air ridge with high pressure at the surface meanders to our East so look for a gradual warm up and more sunshine on Thursday and Friday with the mercury finally returning to near average in the low 50s. A more noticeable jump in temperatures for the weekend will also usher in more moisture with showers and even a few thunderstorms and about 60 degrees for Saturday and Sunday.

A cold front passes through overnight and it will reinforce the cold and bring dry air in for Wednesday. Tomorrow will start off with drizzle and clouds and then partly to mostly cloudy skies take over for the rest of the day. High temperatures will be in the forties on Wednesday. High pressure building back in to the Midwest will usher in sunny skies by Thursday, and with winds turning southwest warmer temperatures, also. After a couple weeks of below average readings, the mercury should finally rise above 50 to near 60 degrees by next Saturday.

A storm system is rapidly approaching our region from the Northwest. This will lead to more clouds, continued chilly temperatures, and some scattered showers overspreading the area on this Election Day. Rain may be mixed with some snow flakes, at times, particularly in our Northern and Western communities, but rain will be the rule. Once the showers exit during the late evening, clouds will begin to decrease for the overnight hours. High pressure building back in to the Midwest will usher in brighter skies by midweek. After a couple weeks of below average readings, the mercury should finally rise above 50 to near 60 degrees by next Saturday. Have a great Election Day, Tuesday!

After a few showers and cold air on Monday clouds stick around tonight along with the chilly air. A weak storm system will move in from the Northwest on Election Day leading to rain showers and breezy Southwest winds. Scattered rain showers will be around on Tuesday, so an umbrella would be a good idea as you head to the polls. The rain will not be heavy but more of a nuisance, and should stick around into the evening hours. Skies will finally clear on Wednesday for partly cloudy skies, but it will still be cold with high temperatures both on Tuesday and Wednesday in the mid-forties. Warmer air starts to move back to Wisconsin on Thursday.

After a few flurries and light snow showers along the lakefront this morning (with no accumulation), the forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for mostly cloudy conditions, areas of drizzle and very light rain thanks to a light easterly breeze off the lake, and highs struggling to reach the lower 40s.

With low level winds off of Lake Michigan this morning, some East side locations are picking up a bit of Lake Effect drizzle and even some flurries. This should come to an end rather rapidly through the morning. With those breezes leading to some clouds in the East and a disturbance to our Southwest streaming some clouds our way, too, we'll notice a mix of clouds and sun through the day. A chilly air mass remains in place and the mercury will remain below seasonal averages with highs only in the mid 40s through midweek. Look for a vigorous disturbance to come at us from the Northwest on Election Day leading to rain showers and breezy Southwest winds. An umbrella would be a good idea as you head to the polls, Tuesday. Have a great work week!

Clouds are slowly filling up the skies tonight but not in enough time to stop the cool down. Temperatures overnight will be in the mid-twenties inland and low-thirties at the lakeshore. Clouds roll in for the first part of the weekend and that will supress the mercury even more. Look for temperatures to top out only in the middle forties on Saturday and Sunday, several degrees below average. With such dry air in place at the surface, any significant precipitation is unlikely, too. The next real chance for any rainfall is on Tuesday of next week.

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for more sunshine, light wind and highs remaining in the 40s for today and for the weekend.
