  • Friday will be the warmest day of the week, and also the new year...

    Clouds and rain and dense fog for the inland counties tonight across southeast Wisconsin. Periods of moderate rainfall are likely with a half inch to an inch of new rainfall. The precipitation should diminish very early on Friday, though clouds will remain through Saturday morning. Expect readings to reach about 52 degrees on Friday and near that on Saturday before a strong cold front send the mercury sinking fast late on saturday afternoon. Temperatures will only top out in the mid-20's for Sunday with a few flurries.

  • Moisture Moves In

    A strong storm system along the Gulf coast will rapidly lift its moisture through the Mississippi Valley and into our region through the day. By late in the afternoon the first showers associated with this disturbance will spread into Southern Wisconsin and continue to blossom Northward, eventually enveloping all of our area through the evening and into tonight. Periods of moderate rainfall are likely with some pretty good downpours, too. The precipitation should diminish very early on Friday, though clouds will remain rather pesky. The work week finishes with our toastiest temperatures yet during this January thaw. Expect readings to reach about 50 degrees on Friday and almost that on Saturday before a strong cold front send the mercury sinking fast. Temperatures will only top out in the low to mid 20s for Sunday. Have a great Thursday!

  • The warm air stays, but here comes clouds and rain for Thursday and Thursday night...

    A larger storm system brewing in the Southern plains will finally break the quiet pattern with a surge of moisture sending rain into the region late Thursday into very early Friday. The clouds from that storm system will be here by morning and the rain then follows mainly by Thursday evening and overnight Thursday night. Temperatures under cloudy skies on Thursday will be in the lower forties. Get ready for readings to reach near 50 degrees for Friday and Saturday before an Arctic cold front sends the mercury plummetting back into the 20s for Sunday.

  • Windy...Mild...Rain

    The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for another sunny and mild day with highs in the mid 40s and a very gusty westerly wind up to 35 mph. Lows tonight will drop into the upper teens in the inland areas, the mid 20s along the lake under a clear sky and patchy fog.

  • Even Warmer With A Ton O' Sun!

    High pressure easing by to our South will provide another day of quiet and dry weather with plenty of sunshine. A substantial pressure gradient, the difference between that high and a low to our Northeast will produce windy conditions. Those West and Southwest breezes will bring more very warm air for this time of year with the continuation of our January thaw.   • The "Thaw" continues and here comes the rain for Thursday...

    There will be a few clouds overnight and winds will be a bit brisk so temperatures will be mild overnight. Overnight low temperatures will be in he upper-twenties to low-thirties which are well above normal for this time of the year. High pressure building back in for tomorrow should lead to another warm, windy, and quiet day with plenty of sunshine. While the warming trend will build through the end of the week with readings rising into the upper 40s, moisture will also grow with more clouds and rain rolling in later in the day on Thursday, into Thursday night and lingering into early Friday. The colder air returns Saturday night and Sunday.

  • Warm & Windy

    The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for hazy sunshine, a light breeze and highs near 40...a great day for January. The January thaw continues with lows near 30 tonight, but winds increase to 20-25 mph, dropping wind chills into the teens. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and windy with highs in the lower 40s with westerly winds up to 30 mph.

  • Spring-like Stretch

    A weak disturbance passing well to our North brought some overnight clouds to the Badger State. They should clear away early allowing plenty of sunshine for the morning. Another paltry system will increase our clouds again late in the day and into tonight. While some computer models indicate a bit of drizzle, it appears we will remain primarily dry. High pressure building back in for tomorrow should lead to another warm, windy, and quiet day with plenty of sunshine. While the warming trend will build through the end of the week with readings rising into the upper 40s, moisture will also grow with more clouds and rain rolling in later in the day on Thursday into Thursday night.   • The warm air has arrived with forties for the rest of the week...

    Upper air winds from the west to souhwest has brought a few clouds to Milwaukee overnight and that will help keep temperatures seasonably mild. Overnight lows will range from the mid to upper-twenties across southeast Wisconsin. With the jet stream well to our North this week, Arctic air remains locked up in Canada and temperatures around here will reach 40 degrees over the next couple of days and rise to the mid 40s by late week. Meanwhile, a developing upper level disturbance in the Western US will push into the Midwest by the second half of the week leading to the potential for some rain Thursday and Friday. Bottom line: quiet first half of the week, wet second half of the week, warm temperatures all the way through the week including Saturday.

  • Warm, Windy Week

    The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for sunshine, gusty SW winds up to 35 mph and highs in the mid to upper 30s and wind chills in the teens and 20s.

    High pressure has worked back into our area and will lead to a day of bright sunshine. The quiet pattern continues until midweek. With the jet stream lifting well to our North, Arctic air remains locked up in Canada and temperatures around here could reach near 40 degrees over the next couple of days and rise to the mid 40s by late week.     The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for the rest of your Sunday night will be quiet with mostly clear skies or skies becoming mostly clear. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper-teens for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and low-teens for inland areas and Waukesha's temperatures.

  • Morning flurries then clearing

    A weak cold front brought some light freezing drizzle and snow overnight and a few flurries are still possible this Sunday morning from that same system. Expect some afternoon clearing and some spots west could even catch some sunshine by the end of the day. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than Saturday due to a NW wind at 10-15mph, keeping highs near 30 degrees in southeast Wisconsin. Mostly clear skies tonight lead to a drop in temperatures, Milwaukee dips to 17 degrees while folks inland will hit the low teens, which is actually seasonal for January.

  • Drizzle or freezing drizzle overnight and then a little sunshine on Sunday...

    The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for the rest of your Saturday night has a few flurries and drizzle/freezing drizzle as the night wears on. A few untreated roads could get a little slippery at times. Overnight lows will bottom out in the mid-20's for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and around twenty degrees for inland areas and Waukesha's temperatures. Sunday may start off with a flurry, but we should break some sunshine out by the afternoon hours. High temperatures won't be too bad with readings topping out in the low-30's. Warmer air with southwesterly winds moves in for most of next week.

  • Some Snow Showers and Freezing Drizzle Tonight

    The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for the rest of your Saturday night has some snow showers, flurries and freezing drizzle as the night wears on. Folks to the southeast could pick up a half inch or less of snow. A few roads could get a little slippery at times. Overnight lows will bottom out in the low-20's for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and upper-teens for inland areas and Waukesha's temperatures.

  • Mild temperatures with a chance for freezing drizzle late

    Cloud cover will be increasing throughout the day today as an Alberta Clipper approaches southeast Wisconsin. That could bring some areas of light freezing drizzle into the forecast, mainly after 5pm, mixing in with some light snow. This same system will move through Green Bay today, so a bit of freezing drizzle and flurries are possible during the game with a kickoff temperature of 23 degrees at kickoff.

  • Seasonably mild air for the weekend in \Milwaukee...

    The weather will be quiet tonight with increasing clouds late. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper-teens for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and low-teens for inland areas and Waukesha's temperatures. The southwest winds and a new Alberta Clipper will bring clouds and then a chance for a few flurries or freezing drizzle late on Saturday. The chance for freezing drizzle or snow showers continues into Saturday night. Flurries linger on Sunday morning before sunshine finally returns. Temperatures both days will be in the low-thirties. Warmer air moves in for much of next week.

  • A Milder Stretch of Temps Starts Today

    The southeast Wisconsin, Waukesha and Milwaukee forecast for the rest of your Friday has plenty of sunshine, but the wind makes it feel colder. Highs will top out in the lower-30's under mostly sunny skies.

  • Fine Friday & Warmer Weekend

    A broad area of high pressure has pushed into the center of the nation and is speading clearing skies our way. We'll have plenty of sunshine and our warming trend continues with high temperatures finally approaching the seasonal average near 30 degrees. Unfortunately, we won't be able to enjoy the rising mercury very much today because winds will whip out of the West with gusts to 30 miles per hour dropping wind chill readings into the single digits to near 10 degrees early. If you enjoy warmer readings, though, there's good news. It appears the jet stream will lift well to the North locking the Arctic air up in Canada and allowing a moderating trend to continue through next week. In fact, maximum mercury could approach 40 degrees by the middle of next week. Meantime for folks heading to the Packers game tomorrow night, conditions will be quiet for the drive there and back, though there could be some patchy flurries, drizzle, and freezing drizzle. At Lambeau, the kickoff weather will be partly to mostly cloudy with temperatures near 20 degrees and wind chills in the lower teens. Have a great Friday and terrific weekend!

  • Warmer air moves this way for the next few days...

    The weak front has passed and skies have cleared tonight allowing temperatures to drop into the teens across the area. Wind chills tonight and tomorrow will be around zero to ten degrees above zero. Friday will be quiet weather-wise with plenty of sunshine nd high temperatures around thrity degrees. The quiet conditions will persist over the weekend and even into next week. That trend continues over the next several days with temperatures approaching the freezing mark on Saturday. Folks looking forward the Packers game in Green Bay will experience partly cloudy skies and temperature readings around 20 degrees at kickoff.
