Wet weather returns to the forecast on this Wednesday another large storm system moves into southeastern Wisconsin. Rain showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread and intensify as the day goes on with a slight chance of a stronger storm along the Illinois state line.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible tonight with many locations picking up an inch of rain during the overnight hours. A warm front pushes in, increasing temperatures into the 50s by Thursday morning and opening the door to a plethora of moisture from the south. Showers and thunderstorms continue throughout the day on Thursday with some strong to even severe storms possible as our highs reach the upper 60s. An additional inch to almost two inches is possible before a cold front works in by Thursday night.
It will be colder and windy on Friday with scattered showers tapering off but some snowflakes could mix in by Friday evening. Total rainfall accumulation will be between two and four inches which is why there are flood watches for all of southeastern Wisconsin. The Fox, Milwaukee, Rock and Sheboygan rivers will be the most impacted by this additional surplus of rain.
Saturday and most of Sunday will be cool and drier but rain ramps up yet again by Sunday night.
