A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for all of southeast Wisconsin until 10am as blowing and drifting snow is still possible this morning. Add that to the precipitation that froze on the roadways overnight and there will be some slick spots as flurry chances taper off by midday. It will be chilly for March with highs only climbing into the 20s, not to mention a strong westerly wind making it feel like we are stuck in the low teens. Skies start to clear throughout the afternoon but that won't make it feel any warmer. Without a thick blanket of clouds overnight, digits drop to 10 degrees along the lakefront and singles are expected inland. Again the wind will make it feel worse, wind chill values will drop below zero for most of southeastern Wisconsin.
Spring begins on Wednesday but you certainly wouldn't know that by looking at the forecast, it will be the coldest day on the 7 Day Planner with a high of only 22 degrees, again feeling colder with the windy conditions. Most of the day will be partly cloudy but a few flurries are possible during the afternoon. Wind chills overnight again drop below zero for many locations before the wind starts to calm down on Thursday. We slowly climb back into the mid-30s by the weekend but no typical March 40s are in the forecast. The next storm system comes Sunday and into Monday with more snow, mixing in with rain at times.
