Big Surge Of Warm Air & Rain

CREATED Jan. 28, 2013

A new storm system is coming at us from the Southwest along with a big surge of warm air and a lot more moisture.  Based on the temperature profile of the atmosphere, we've already seen a very messy mix of rain, sleet, freezing rain, and snow.  Readings are now rising enough to change it all to rain.  In addition, you can add some fog to the picture.  The precipitation will remain pesky tonight and tomorrow with possibly even a thunderstorm, but temperatures will soar reaching the low 40s today and  the mid 50s tomorrow.  That's near record warmth.  By late week drier air will work back in, but so will dramatically colder air.  Below average temperatures in the teens will be the best we do by Thursday.
Have a great week ahead!
