A pretty nasty storm system will work its way through southeastern Wisconsin throughout your Sunday. We still have cold air at the surface so a warm front will bring snow to start with some sleet mixing in before 2pm. As warmer air pushes in we see a change over to sleet and freezing rain mix before the evening when temperatures will be warm enough to sustain mainly rain showers. Not everyone will see an icing but many locations could get a tenth of an inch of ice coating the roads, sidewalks and driveways through the afternoon hours. The further north you go, the better chance there is of seeing one to two inches of wet snow instead of ice. Temperatures will be close to the freezing mark in response to a breezy southerly wind.
Freezing rain chances diminish overnight as temperatures slowly rise, keeping light rain chances and fog in the forecast tonight. We continue to warm into the 40s for Monday though it will be cloudy and foggy with light drizzle possible mainly in the morning. Fog stays in the forecast through Tuesday night when there is a better chance for rain after highs reach the low 50s! Colder air moves in behind the rain Tuesday night and a few flurries are possible on Wednesday with near normal highs. The arctic air returns for Thursday and Friday as overnight lows dip into the single digits and highs struggle to stay in the teens.
