Arctic air arrives

CREATED Jan 20, 2013

The arctic air has arrived and even though the wind advisory has expired, NW winds will still be pretty nasty at 15-20mph.  Those winds will make our dramatic drop in temperatures seem even worse: highs in southeastern Wisconsin will only be in the teens but with the wind it will feel more like single digits below zero.  Temperatures float within a few degrees of zero overnight but with the strong breeze it will feel like -5 to -15.

The bitter blast continues into the start of the work week with the coldest air in two years upon us on Monday and Tuesday when temperatures will only be in the single digits.  Overnight lows on Monday night will drop below zero for everyone in southeast Wisconsin and with a persistent wind, wind chills may drop to almost dangerous levels: -15 to -25 degrees.
