Weekend Storms

CREATED Dec 7, 2012

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for clouds, sprinkles and highs in the lower 40s for your Friday.  A weak storm system moves into the area this evening and overnight with a rain snow mix and enough accumulation to end the snowless streak.  I am expecting less than a half inch of accumulation mainly on the grassy surfaces overnight with lows near 32.  After morning flurries, Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 40s.

The bigger storm system moves in Saturday night with a wintry mix and the possibility of a dusting of snow by morning before it all becomes rain throughout the daytime hours.  Areas well west and north will have a rain/snow mix throughout the day...including Green Bay.  It will snow during the Packer game Sunday evening and roads will be slick for the drive home.  The Milwaukee area will see some light snow late Sunday night with total accumulations of about 1-2 inches...higher amounts away from the lake.  Central and Northern Wisconsin can expect 4-8" of snow with some areas in extreme northern Wisconsin approaching a foot of snow bu Sunday night.

The storm will be out of here before Monday morning with clouds and flurries throughout the day with highs struggling to hit 30.
